Structural Design Engineer – Solar PV

We are currently looking for a dedicated and experienced Structural Design Engineer to join
and work alongside other professionals as part of a multidisciplinary project team.

procurement, construction, and investment in renewable energy projects across Europe and
frontier markets.
We are a renewable energy expert with over 12 years of experience in the low-carbon sector,
having successfully completed more than 520 large-scale and rooftop solar PV projects with
total installed capacity of over 2 GW.

The role

The role is varied and will include working on a range of PV projects. Your responsibility will
include:

  • Preparation of civil / structural engineering documentation (conceptual design, schematic
    design and working design) based on both rooftop and ground-mounted solar photovoltaic
    (PV) system requirements in compliance with the applicable legislation
  • Static and dynamic analysis, modeling and drawing of metal structures
  • Drafting and design with AutoCAD, calculations, drawings, and specifications
  • Preparation of design documentation for the respective steel structure in the shortest
    possible time, strictly ensuring the avoidance of over sizing the metal constructions (always
    chasing low metal consumption), while taking into account key factors such as technology
    of execution and installation of the metal structure, load-bearing capacity and load
    distribution, suppliers of structural elements, metal profiles, standards, norms and other
    important criteria
  • Calculation of quantities of materials required for the structure construction
  • Preparation of Health and Safety plan, Construction waste management plan, and Fire
    safety plan
  • Participation in workshops and author’s supervision of the designed projects
  • Conducting site surveys and assessment of field data about the rooftop/ground
  • Technical assessment of PV products and equipment
  • Collaboration with architects and other engineers to ensure that the designed structures
    meet all applicable codes and standards

The person

  • Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Valid full licensed designer competence
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, MS Office suite and specialized calculation software
  • Strong knowledge of Eurocode
  • A good knowledge of PV technology
  • Must be reliable, detail oriented and efficient in problem-solving
  • Excellent mathematical, IT and analytical skills
  • A flexible and proactive approach
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment and a capability to prioritize tasks
  • Valid Driving License – Category B

Desirable criteria

  • Previous design experience
  • Fluency in English or/and German both written and spoken
  • Experience in the design of structures for solar power plants, of structures for electrical facilities and substations is considered an advantage
  • Valid licenses for the preparation of Health and Safety plan, Construction waste management plan, and Fire safety plan as part of the design documentation will be considered an advantage

EPC Project Manager – Solar PV (m/w/d)

The role

  • Lead international projects focused on the construction of photovoltaic power plants.
  • Plan and oversee technical, economic, and organizational aspects, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to deadlines.
  • Manage assembly processes and oversee on-site commissioning activities.
  • Conduct internal, external, and customer acceptance tests for project deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant directives and regulations throughout project execution.
  • Provide technical support for sales activities.
  • Develop and execute strategies for successful project implementation.
  • Collaborate with Operations management as needed to support project goals.
  • Create and update project schedules, providing regular progress feedback.
  • Utilize project tools and trackers to monitor tasks, open points, and overall project status
  • Document meeting discussions and project details in notes or project trackers.
  • Proactively identify project risks and implement effective solutions.

The person

  • Successfully completed studies in engineering sciences (specializing in electrical engineering, energy management, mechanical engineering, process engineering)
  • Several years of professional experience as a Project Manager in photovoltaic plant construction
  • Good business management knowledge, especially in project planning/project management/project controlling
  • Project scheduling: Teamwork (online planning); Similar tool, MS projects and/or Primavera as alternative (proven experience or coursework)
  • Contractual knowledge: professional understanding, especially of FIDIC contracting (proven experience or coursework)
  • Proficiency in MS Office & Google sheet/documents, SAP system
  • Work independently, personal commitment and a high sense of responsibility
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively
  • Strong negotiating skills along with entrepreneurial mindset
  • Willingness to travel internationally within the framework of the projects
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory; German knowledge and/or additional languages will be considered as an asset
  • Valid driving license – Category B
